Who are you?-I

What could be a better day than this to blog free spiritedly? Though this is the last entry for the month of November and soon the year will end with three more entries, yet I wish that all of you must not overlook this date-30th Nov. This was the day when Shri Mahavatar Babaji was born more than one thousand eight hundred years ago in Parangipettai, Tamil Nadu. It is an auspiscious day today for the reason that it is the birth anniversary of Swami Shri Nityananda of Ganeshpuri also. I get a feeling just now that this is an auspicious time of the day and I must speak to everyone right now.

Since I could not take out time earlier to compose the new post, this one is impromptu and unpremeditated; words are just flowing out of me as I remember these two great saints of India. The very fact that in spite of sleeping quite late last night, I woke up in the morning at 5.45 am sharp as fresh as a morning dew drop on a grass blade, I knew that today is going to be a day full of tranquillity, auspiciousness and  laden with blessedness. Seeking their blessings and offering my purest gratitude, I begin to speak to you with my words on this blog.

I can right now apprehend Shri Mahavatarji’s blessed figure in front of me so full of love and sacredness. He can be seen right now with his gentle arms unfolded and stretched outwardly like a divine father to embrace all of us although we have committed some transgressions and misconducts earlier. Yet today he has forgiven us and wishes that we should make a new beginning, a fresh start with an attitude of humility, thoughtfulness and an offering. We should offer ourselves, our whole selves at his feet and seek his guidance to make a fresh start. We should be bold enough to etch out a new life for ourselves by walking on that new path. I take a pledge at this moment to rededicate myself by offering my whole life, my whole being by prostrating down in his refuge absolutely with all my love, gratitude and humbleness.

He asks us a few questions which we must listen carefully and address them with attention, “Who  are you? What for have you come in this world? What are your goals? What do you want to become? How will you achieve those goals? Who is your guidance?

This life is not for amassing and accumulating tons of gold and other wealth. This life is not for fulfilling your earthly desires. This life is not for fulfilling your pride and satisfying small, irrelevant goals. This life is not given to us for settling scores of many past lives either. Neither is this life meant for pursing conflicts and battles and waging wars on others. We just have to sit calmly in our homes with lot of fresh air and open sky and abundant light to realise that we have come on this Earth with a much, much bigger purpose and meaningful missions. We have come here to know ourselves. We should be able to go deep down inside with the help of regular satsangas, holy company and holy talk and meditation. Contemplation is the outcome of meditation. Wisdom comes with contemplation and practise of yoga of meditation.”

He has requested all of you to henceforth ask questions with plentiful humility and unpretentiousness and seek your answers here. The foremost quality of a seeker is humility after which comes gratitude. Those who are not humble cannot win the heart of the Guru. From Guru comes gyan or wisdom. Wisdom will liberate you……Om shanti, shanti, shanti Om……

    Dearest Sarika!
After i became aware of the significance of todays date, in my daily puja of lighting the lamp in my mandir, I had silently asked that today, instead of praying for anyone else, i will pray for myself.. That I get the guidance and illumination from the Param Guru Babaji and Swami Nityanandaji and He guide me in my thoughts, words and action on the right path always. I felt so relieved after this intention and prayer, as if a big burden has been lifted from my shoulders, I felt so at peace after a week of anxiety and worry. I know that as long as we are open to recieve, our Guru will keep gifting us wisdom, knowledge, peace and abundance!! i also experienced this amazing feeling for the first time… Of all events, of everything happening just now, like this moment containing all possibilities, hopes and dreams, all fears and regrets… Just felt it all together.. And it was a moment of just peace.. Shanti and nothing else!! But much too soon, I felt that moment pass… And i knew that the spell was broken 🙂 .. But the the faint rememberance has remained.. And even that small fraction of a fragment is able to bring a smile to my lips.. When i think of it!! So thank you first Sarika… For being that pure being to give us even a whiff of that pure essence and of course my profound gratitude to Him in all His forms!! So who am I? That eternal question is before us now.. I am going to enjoy this exhilarating journey that you have planned for us :)) Thank you!!

Vanita, in conjuction with our last conversation- The exact lines of Shri Paramhansa Yogananda I can recall now- “O Beloved God! I will reason, I will will, I will act; but guide Thou my reason, will, and activity to the right things that I should do.”
These lines were of great help to me once when I was groping in the dark all by myself. This intent and postive affirmation attunes you to the Highest Order and the mind begins to think and act in the direction as hinted subtly.
Your experience narrated here is showing that you did receive divine guidance as you also experienced peace, never mind how shortlived. Continue thinking in the right direction with this experience and recall this peace, relief and assurance many times. It will seep in slowly. Heighten your postives and happy moments with divinity and get inspiration and direction directly.Even faint remembrance helps in the beginning, so re- live your moments of oneness with God and pursue your goals.
One does get overwhelmed sometimes with decision making process, more so if it concerns shaping our future or our dear children’s future. Apart from the spiritual help that we need to resort to, also remember that many a times all we need is a healthy, nutritious diet so that we can energize ourselves to pursue our goals. So foods full of nutritive values for our nervous system become crucial. And please do not undermine the significance of a good night sleep too.
So put all things together and you will succeed.
And thank you for listening to me:) You are always welcome anytime.
      Lovingly Sarika

  6. Dear Sarikaji…

    Jai Babaji…

Thanks a lot for making us conscious for this divine day.. …!! The first thing I did after going home is to offer him white flowers mala and incenses with unconditional gratitude… and meditated after that… u know since the day I have started doing spiritual journey.. I am very keen to know the answers of the questions which u have mentioned in this post (asked by Babaji to all of us) and by his grace and blessings I feel that… we all are radiating souls, which is a part of god’s divine light… and our main purpose to come on this birth is the self realization that god is in all of us.. and when we realize this, our ultimate work is to live for society and to spread his love and light in this world… But for self realization one must have unconditional faith in Babaji and a very pure heart like a child.. Meditation should always be done on regular basis.. U know I always try to do all these with Babaji in vision and waiting for the correct time, when he shall show me my exact task/duty… I request you to guide me and correct me if I am wrong anywhere…

Namaste with love and light _/\_

    Nirav…

  7. spiritinlife says:

Dear Nirav, great learning begins with asking the right Q’s. A good disciple should know that getting Brahma Vidya from a Brahma-nishtha guru is the goal of his/her internship and seeking. BrahmaVidya or Brahma Gyan comes from the Guru when He nudges you to ask the right question. Therefore Babaji has asked us to explore ourselves so that we ask the relevant questions as I have stated in this post. These questions are a must because they will remove the ignorancce in us.
    I find that your lines-
I am very keen to know the answers of the questions which u have mentioned in this post (asked by Babaji to all of us) ……are very relevant and I would like to answer them in my next posts because I want others should also read it. I would love to compose a fresh post after my own contemplation and meditation with Shri Babaji. So, until then, kindly wait and I hope you shall get all your queries right here on the blog.
Those who ask with humility shall know. So please pursue your sadhana with always remembering in future that knowing God and then yourself, is a very long journey and this learning is a very long process. But as you have asked with so much humility, I would also like you to know that you are a good soul because you possess those qualities. Remember please that humility and graitude will take you to the door of God.
Regarding the seva or service you wish to do for Shri Babaji, please be assured that you will be designated with a lot of it in near future. As you have dedicated your life for a higher purpose and wish to serve others, you are the chosen one. Babaji has a plan for everybody but many amongst us are impatient or obscure in our minds as we do not understand that we must surrender first and then the Guru gives instructions…. So come closer to Shri Babaji’s feet and surrender…..he will begin to guide you in so many ways, just go by those inspirations and subtle guidance.
I will meet you soon on the blog in my next post….never hesitate to ask more. I will answer all your curiosity related questions. You can also write to me at spiritinlife@gmail.com
With love and blessings from me
    Sarika

      • spiritinlife says:

Yes, this is true Paripurna. I am stressing this point again by replying and highlighting your comment. we must first surrender then the Guru gives instructions. It is for all. And there can be no conditions from the student’s side, we must first surrender unconditionally.

  8. Dear Sarikaji…

    Jai Babaji…

So kind of u for replying to my question.. I shall eagerly wait for your next post and shall send you a mail for further questions.. as you have mentioned i get many inspirations and intuitions from Shri Babaji.. and all come true in reality.. but sometimes i feel obscure..

Again thanks a lot for this divine guidance…

    Pranaam _/\_

Yes Shahid, this was the crux of the whole matter here. Do remember these lines all your life. There is no other bigger purpose in our lives than knowing our Spirit, our own Self.
